Our Beginnings
Meriah Houser, Founder
Decoding Dyslexia Arizona owes its existence to the tireless efforts and impassioned advocacy of its founder, Meriah Houser, a parent of two school-age children with dyslexia. While working closely with their public school to ensure her children receive the education to which they are entitled by law, Meriah has worn numerous other hats, including: private educator/tutor for students with dyslexia; Parent Support Specialist for the nonprofit audiobook provider Learning Ally; until 2013, member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona branch of the International Dyslexia Association; monthly dyslexia parent support group leader; and Decoding Dyslexia Arizona social media wizard.
